Shelter from the Storm
Shelter from the Storm is a month-long national campaign dedicated to ending violence against women. Funds raised support shelters for abused women and their children across Canada, and community violence prevention programs. These programs assist women as they rebuild their lives after abuse; teach young people about healthy relationships; and counsel children who have witnessed violence, to help them heal and prevent them from becoming victims or abusers themselves.
Created in 2005, Shelter from the Storm was borne of a vision to create a national fundraising and awareness campaign that would benefit every shelter across Canada, and inspire Canadians to become involved in ending violence against women. Thanks to our thousands of donors across Canada, and the unwavering commitment of our campaign partners - Winners, HomeSense, BMO Financial Group and Rogers Media - that is exactly what we’re doing.
